QUALITY: Stamp quality depends on grading, and grading is the most subjective area in stamp collecting.
Generally, I adhere to the standards for stamp quality as listed in the Scott Postage Stamp Catalog. There are,
of course, many other factors affecting stamps, including tears, stains, paper thins, blunted or missing perforations,
disturbed gum, regummed, no gums, toned gums, scuffs, fading, and oxidation.
Stamp Grading, as I apply to centering
of design on stamp:
- Superb (better than the best! Worthy of extra attention! Perfect in all respects. Commands a premium
above XF.)
- ExtraFine (The Best! A comfortable grade to buy stamps in! Near perfect Centering of the design!
Expect a premium above VF-XF.)
- VeryFine-ExtraFine (Slightly off-centered, but still in the Extra-Fine range!
Good range to buy in! Sometimes a premium above VF.)
- VeryFine (The mid-point range for stamp grades. Off-Center, but clear of the design on four sides!
This is the grade currently used by Scott Catalog for listed prices. Good grade to buy in.)
- Fine-VeryFine (Off-center. design usually close on one side or slightly touching perforations. Budget
grade. Usually a discounted grade.)
- Fine (Design close to perforations on two or more sides. Budget grade. Discounted.)
- VeryGood or Average (Design cuts into perforations on more than one side. Budget
grade. Discounted.)
- VeryGood-Fine (Design cuts into perforations on one or more sides. Budget grade. Discounted.)
- VeryGood-VeryFine (Design cuts into only one side. Three sides clear. Budget grade. Discounted.)

- $500.00 or more is $16.50 (adjusted
as needed).
- $400.00 to $499.99 is $14.50.
- $300.00 to $399.99 is $12.50.
- $200.00 to $299.99 is $10.50.
- $125.00 to $199.99 is $9.50.
- $100.00 to $124.99 is $8.50.
- $50.00 to $99.99 is $6.50.
- $49.99 to $20.00 is 5.00.
- Less than $20.00 is $5.00.
Rates above are per 20 items ordered.
For each additional 20 items add $3.00.
Insurance is included on all orders.
I only ship to destinations in the
United States. Above Rates
are for USA destinations only!
If you are outside the USA and wish to order, please contact me first. I handle orders outside the USA on a case-by-case
basis. Rates outside the USA will always be higher! I reserve the right to adjust shipping rates as needed for
any order. Most stamps will ship at the above rates for USA destinations. Full sheets, large souvenir sheets and
other items may require additional charges. Minimum order is $20.00! Shipping is not refundable!
Refunds are given as merchandise
credit and returns must be made within 7 days of receipt with prior approval by Target Auctions. Stamps may be
purchased with an extension of time to return, if purchaser wishes to obtain a certificate from a recognized source.
I can recommend sources for certifcates. If an unfavorable opinion is received I will refund the cost of merchandise
only.
